Bernero Challenging Snyder ... Again

LANSING (WWJ) - He lost the race for governor of Michigan -- and now Virg Bernero says he'd like to haul Rick Snyder into court.

According to WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero says he's not sure he has standing, but if he could get it, he would challenge -- in the courts -- the governor's Emergency Financial Manager legislation, putting it this way: "This is the kind of thing that happens in Russia. You know, I jokingly said he must have followed the advice of WWPD, what would Putin do? I'm not really joking because in Russia, you know, the president appoints the governors, and the mayors. You go the wrong way, you know -- you get cross-eyed with ... Putin -- and you're out. And, that's the way it's starting to look here in Michigan. That's un-American," Bernero said.

Governor Rick Snyder says he's trying to avoid bankruptcies for schools and governments, which is why he signed this legislation. The court challenge is anticipated, however.
