Body Found In Recreation Area Lake

HAMBURG TWP. (WWJ) - A headless human body has been found in Murray Lake in the Brighton State Recreation Area.  A kayaker reportedly found the body after 1 p.m., Thursday, on the north side of the lake

People who live in the area say the body may be someone who fell through the ice during the winter, although this was not immediately confirmed by authorities.

According to LivingstonDaily.com, the body is decomposed to the point police could not tell whether it was male or female, or how old the person was.

The body was removed from a muddy area near the lake shore by 6 p.m. Michigan State Police, Hamburg Township Police and the medical examiner are now investigating.
