Local Judge Says U.S. Should See Bin Laden Photos

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – President Obama says the White House won’t release the photos of a dead Osama bin Laden, saying there’s no need to “spike the football”

But a prominent Detroit judge says it’s something the U.S. should get to see.

WWJ reporter Vickie Thomas spoke with U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Damon Keith of the Sixth Circuit who believes photos of Osama bin Laden should be released.

“I think it’s important in an open society so that everyone will know with finality that this thing is at closure. There’ll be some problems with them but I think the best side would be to show them and let the world know that we are an open society and he is indeed gone,” he says.

In terms of a potential terrorist attack, Keith says he does not live in fear. “I’m not a person that goes around being scared. Our country will take care of us,” he says.

Meanwhile, those graphic online photos that show a dead Osama bin Laden are becoming popular, but U.S. officials say they’re fake. President Barack Obama had said Wednesday that there was no reason to release the real images.

One fake photo in particular has become widely distributed. It shows a bloodied bin Laden with a missing left eye, and he’s grimacing as if he died in pain.

By releasing the Bin Laden photos it would put many Americans (and their families) in greater danger who work and live abroad. As we saw with the burning of the Koran, many innocent people lost their lives for absolutely nothing. Think again judge, you’re wrong, the Presidents right!

I also I believe it is absolutly wrong and at best inhumane to show gruesome photos of anyone who died that way. Children certainly should not be exposed to this kind of insanity. I am really surprised that Judge Damon Keith who some 55 years ago, delivered the key note address at my high school graduation ceremony and who also delivered the same at my Mom’s graduation, and whom I have admired for years, would buy into this insanity.

Comments that say we should or should not do something because of how it might affect someone else are at the very least disgraceful to the United States. It is more like treason. We do not and our soldiers did not fight for our right of freedoms so that we should give them up so quickly. His picture as well as all criminals should be published, put on the ground and defecated on. Tell the whole world what we think of this kind of slime. He was not a true muslim and anyone that thinks he deserves consideration as such, does not have any facts to back him up.

treason? Treason not to flaunt this spectre? Treason to disbelieve our SEALs and our President, more like.

Oh……. is Osama bin Laden really Dead…. Sure. Come on….. shot in the head and then buried at sea. Do we really want to believe what our government tells us?

An important detail the article should have mentioned is whether Judge Keith made the statement AFTER the President announced his decision or BEFORE.
