Southwest Detroit Celebrates Cinco de Mayo

DETROIT (WWJ) - People from all over Southeast Michigan are joining Mexican American merchants on Bagley Street for the annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration.

Xochi Gift Shop owner Gloria Rosas says there is lots going on, and everyone is welcome.

"We have live music... We have good food. We have a lot of arts and crafts.  But the most important thing is that we have all of our hospitality from our people... to welcome you to Southwest Detroit," Rosas said.

"I'm expecting have good sales in my business, but I'm proud to celebrate the 149th anniversary of the Battle of Puebla against the army of French," she said.
