Fatal Pedestrian Accident In York Township

YORK TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A pedestrian was struck and killed on Stony Creek Road in York Township on Friday afternoon.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) said just before 3:30 pm, a Ford Taurus was traveling west-bound on Stony Creek Road, east of Sanford Road, when it struck a pedestrian who had just loaded equipment onto a flat-bed semi truck parked on Stony Creek Road.

The 45-year-old Macomb Township resident was pronounced dead at the scene by Huron Valley Ambulance.

The driver of the Ford, a 50-year-old Clinton Township resident, was evaluated by Huron Valley Ambulance at the scene and released.
