Tigers 10, Blue Jays 5

TORONTO (WWJ/AP) - A six run fourth inning set the tone for the Tigers as they trounce the Toronto Blue Jays 10-5 on Monday night.

As heard on 97.1 The Ticket, the Tiger bats came alive in Toronto, giving Detroit the series 3-1 over the Blue Jays.

Max Scherzer won his sixth consecutive decision, Scherzer (6-0) has not lost in eight starts this season. His season-opening winning streak is the longest by a Tigers pitcher since Jeremy Bonderman won eight straight in 2007.

Scherzer allowed two runs and five hits in five innings, matching his shortest start of the year. He walked three and struck out five.

Martinez went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, hitting a two-run homer, and Austin Jackson had four RBIs for the Tigers, who have won six of seven to even their record at 18-18.

Toronto lost for the seventh time in nine games and dropped a season-high five games below .500.
