Poll: More Than Half Unhappy With Snyder

LANSING (WWJ) - About 60 percent of Michigan voters in a new poll say they're unhappy with the job Governor Rick Snyder is doing.

The poll by Lansing-based EPIC MRA shows that 35 percent of those called the Governor's job performance "poor," while the rest ranked it "just fair."

Just under a third of those polled like Gov. Snyder's budget proposals, while over a third said they are expecting Michigan's economy to pick up in the next year.

The numbers differ greatly from those reported in the previous EPIC MRA poll in February, when voters statewide had a since of optimism with Gov. Synder at the helm.

"Now, once voters have gotten an idea of some of the policies that he's pursuing, not only have his favorable ratings eroded, but his job rating has eroded as well," said EPIC MRA President Bernie Porn .

The poll of 600 voters was conducted April 27-May 3 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
