–C Darren Helm sealed the win with an empty-net goal. After scoring a career-high 12 goals during the regular season, Helm already has three goals in the playoffs. The team appreciates any offense it gets from a fourth-line player, but Helm is more valued for his speed and physical play because he wears down defenses.

–C Pavel Datsyuk had another tremendous game despite playing with a sore wrist. He made a great backhand pass to set up Valtteri Filppula’s winning goal. He had three shots on goal and was his usual strong self defensively.

–C Henrik Zetterberg scored the tying goal and continues to flourish after missing the first round with a sprained knee. He had a plus-2 rating and did a good defensive job against big Joe Thornton.

–LW Johan Franzen (sore left ankle) didn’t play in Game 6.

–G Chris Osgood (surgery on Jan. 11 for a sports hernia) is on long-term injured reserve. He has been practicing hard and believes he is close to being ready to serve as the backup.
