Water Main Break On Grand River Ave. Leaves One Lane Open

DETROIT (WWJ) - A busy Detroit road, already serving as a detour for the big Southfield Freeway project, is now hit with a water main break.

The morning commute has come to a slow as crews are working to clear massive amounts of water from the road, pumping water to a storm drain.

The incident is affecting traffic on eastbound Grand River, just west of Telegraph.

The spillage stretches across nearly the entire road, leaving only the right lane open on eastbound Grand River.

MDOT officials on the scene said they should have the water main repaired by Monday.

For the latest from the roads, stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 during Traffic and Weather on the 8s, 24-hours a day. Check for recent traffic incidents now by visiting our Traffic Page.
