Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! There are just few construction areas to watch out for this weekend.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. (As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather).
I-696:
In Macomb County, ongoing bridge work will require a two-lane closure during the overnight hours on eastbound and westbound I-696 between Van Dyke Ave. and Schoenherr Road. The nightly lane closures begin at 9 pm and end by 5 am the following mornings until mid-June.
In Macomb County, beginning at 5 am and ending by 5 pm on Saturday, the right lane of eastbound I-696 will be closed from Hoover to Bunert roads for ongoing construction.
I-94:
In Macomb County, the left lane of eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed between 8 Mile and 11 Mile roads for ongoing bridge work and lighting upgrades. The left lane closure begins at 9 pm on Friday and ends by 5 am on Monday.
I-75:
In Oakland County, starting at 9 am and ending by 3 pm. on Friday, the right lane of southbound I-75 at M-59 will be closed for ongoing construction at the interchange.
In Oakland County, in order to string a new cable above the freeway, there will be a 15-minute total closure of northbound and southbound I-75 at Rochester Road sometime between 7 am and 9 am on Sunday.
I-96:
In Oakland County, the left lane of eastbound I-96 at Milford Road will be closed for maintenance work beginning at 8 pm on Friday and ending at 8 am on Saturday.
M-59:
In Oakland County, setting bridge beams will require intermittent 15-minute total closures of westbound M-59 at Crooks Road starting at 9 pm Friday and ending by 5 am Saturday.
M-3 (Gratiot Ave):
In Macomb County, northbound and southbound M-3 will be reduced to a single lane between Sandpiper and Cass roads in the Mt Clemens area for ongoing construction. The lane restrictions begin at 10 pm on Friday and end by 5 am on Monday.
M-39:
In Wayne and Oakland Counties, M-39 Southfield Freeway will remain closed between the Lodge Freeway and Grand River Avenue until late October.
