Dassault Systemes Offers Creative Designer Day: The engineering software firm Dassault Systemes has scheduled “Creative Designer Day, Concept to Class A” for Tuesday, May 24 at the Ford Conference and Event Center in Dearborn. There will be presentations from Harley-Davidson and Lawrence Technological University’s transportation design experts as well as hands-on sessions. This seminar will provide an overview of the CATIA Shape solutions — CATIA for Creative Designers and Surface Refinement — that enable a unified vehicle design and styling workflow from Concept to Class A. Students at Lawrence Tech using these tools have found that with minimal CATIA training, they can develop vehicle concept and complete surfacing in a day as compared to about a week working in other software programs. Additionally, learn about the new 3DSwYm collaborative community network for designers from Dassault Systemes. The event begins with donuts and coffee at 7:30 a.m. and the program runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes a networking lunch job fair.
