GlobalWatt To Supply Solar Panels, Mobile Units For Projects In Texas

San Jose, Calif.-based GlobalWatt Inc. announced it has signed distribution agreements valued at $2 million to supply its commercial and mobile solar panel systems for Texas clients.

The installations will consist of solar photovoltaic modules made in Saginaw by GlobalWatt in combination with a thermal system manufactured by Sol-Ice of Park City, Utah. SolarDock of Wilmington, Del. will provide the roof mounting infrastructure.

The supply agreements for GlobalWatt's Solar Photovoltaic and integrated Solar PV/Thermal systems will serve strategic projects in Houston and the Gulf Coast.  The first two installations will be on the 10710 S. Sam Houston Parkway Building in Houston and the Grand Marina Hotel in Corpus Christi.

"This is the beginning of several of such projects to follow in a multitude of locations in Texas and beyond," said Mike Carnahan, GlobalWatt vice president of strategic sales in Austin. The GlobalWatt agreement with LNV Inc of Corpus Christi also includes distribution of a Mobile Solar product line. LNV has purchased a number of these systems for delivery in June 2011. They include the "Charlie," a mobile 500-watt system for the recreational market; the "Zorro," a one-kilowatt system for the commercial and industrial market, and the "Sun-Pad," an expandable, transportable solar platform for disaster relief and military applications.
