Dinosaurs At The Detroit Zoo

Heads up!

There are spitting dinosaurs at  the Detroit Zoo.

It's part of "Dinosauria," open now through Labor Day in Royal Oak.

The exhibit stars more than 30 life-like animatronic  dinosaurs  that roar, snarl and move. And spit.
Zoo boss Ron Kagan says "Sixty-five million years after  the last dinosaur species became extinct, these prehistoric creatures  still capture the imagination and wonder of adults and kids alike."

The dinosaurs are located along a 3 acre Dino Trail at the zoo.

Check out the  "dino dig" and fossil sifting station while you're there.

Kids can also walk  through a dinosaur rib cage and compare their footprints with those of  an Iguanodon.
You exit  through a fog-filled abandoned  mine shaft to go "back to the future".

Dinosauria is  open daily through Labor Day, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (until 8 p.m.  Wednesdays during July and August).  Tickets are $4 with Zoo admission  for visitors ages 2 and older and are available at main admissions, the  Dinosauria ticket booth or online at www.detroitzoo.org.
