Pilot Arrested After Single-Engine Plane Crash

NEWAYGO COUNTY (WWJ) – A pilot is under arrest after a single-engine plane crash Friday in Newaygo County.

WOOD TV reports that Michigan State Police took the pilot away in handcuffs after the plane went down near Fremont Friday afternoon.

One passenger was injured in the crash shortly after takeoff from Fremont Municipal Airport, about 40 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.

A State Trooper says the pilot may have been drinking.
