Re-enactment Commemorates the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War

City of Southfield Commemorates Memorial Day
Where: Steps Of Southfield City Hall
When: Friday, May 27 at 9 a.m
Cost: Free
The program will include remarks from Mayor Brenda L. Lawrence, keynote speaker Colonel (P.) Arthur G. Austin, Jr. – Deputy Commander of the 177th Military Police Brigade, and Daniel Brightwell from the Southfield Veterans Commission. The ceremony will also include a presentation of colors; 21-Gun Salute; Southfield-Lathrup High School Choir performance; and the playing of "Taps." Light refreshments will be available in City Hall following the ceremony.

American Legion Post 268 Memorial Day Service And Parade
Where: Legion Building at 44 Wabash, Milan MI 48160
When: Monday, May 30 at 9 a.m.
Cost: Free
A memorial will begin with a wreath placed on Ford Lake and at the Blue Star Memorial in Wilson Memorial Park. Services will be held and dignitaries will speak, honoring our military veterans at the end of the parade. A flyover has been tentatively planned.
