Robin Trower Live: “Twice Removed” From Ordinary

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) – When I decided to attend Robin Trower’s concert at the Royal Oak Music Theatre, I really didn’t know what to expect. My goal was simply to get a chance to see a live performance from the man once heralded as “The White Hendrix.” But, to my surprise, what I ended up experiencing was a whole lot more than I ever could have expected.

While Trower is widely known for his skills on the guitar, his front-man’s vocals command attention as well. He has a smooth, laid-back vocal style that’s easy to listen to. If you’ve heard Robin Trower perform live, or you own any of his CDs, you know what I’m talking about. If not, you can find him on You Tube, and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

But, back to the concert. Robin Trower and his band had the audience (myself included!) cheering, clapping, singing and dancing in their (our!) “seats”. If you’ve ever been to the Royal Oak Music Theatre, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t been there yet, find a reason to go. It’s a concert-going experience like none other that I’ve experienced.

If you missed Robin Trower this time around, you may have to wait awhile for him to return to this area. But, now that the summer travel season has arrived, you may be able to catch him before his U.S. tour wraps up and he heads overseas for his European tour. Catch him if you can. He and his band delivered a phenomenal performance. A fantastic time had by all!
