2 Teens Assaulted Outside Northland Mall

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Southfield police are looking for a man they say robbed two young women and then sexually assaulted them in a parking lot.

Officials say the 17 and 18-year-old Detroiters got off a bus at Northland Mall at Northwestern Highway and Northland Drive, Monday, when a man, who exited the bus behind them, held a knife at one of their throats.

He demanded money and their cell phones. He then ordered the young women to walk over to some bushes where sexually assaulted them before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years old, 5'11" tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing a red shirt, black baseball cap and black shorts. The knife used was described as a small kitchen knife, possibly a paring knife.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Southfield Police Department at (248) 796-5500.
