Man Faces Trial After Wife's Eyelid Bitten Off

ST. CLAIR SHORES (AP) - A suburban Detroit man faces trial after his estranged wife's eyelid was bitten off during a Mother's Day argument at her St. Clair Shores home.

The Detroit Free Press reports that 32-year-old Rahsaan Thedford's arraignment on assault with intent to maim is June 13 in Macomb Circuit Court.
Police said the argument began when the woman told Thedford to leave. The woman told police she was punched in the face and that one of her eyelids then was bitten off.

The man from Macomb County's Clinton Township was arrested a block away trying to climb a fence.

The couple separated after the woman's 17-year-old daughter was assaulted this year. Thedford faces a misdemeanor assault charge in that case.

There was no answer Wednesday at a telephone listing for Thedford's attorney.
