Snyder Declares Emergency For Battle Creek Area
LANSING (WWJ) - Tuesday's declaration covers Battle Creek and surrounding Calhoun County. Snyder says it frees up state resources for clearing roads of debris from Sunday's storms.
Utility crews have been working around the clock to restore power.
Consumers Energy say it will be late Thursday before it has power back for all 33,000 still without service Tuesday night. It says 133,000 customers were affected, including 9,500 blacked out by storms Tuesday.
DTE Energy says about 4,000 of its 30,000 affected customers remained without power.
