Toddler Found Floating In Water Under Trampoline

BLOOMER TOWNSHIP (AP) - Authorities in western Michigan say a 19-month-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after being submerged for 10 minutes in water in a hole on his family's property.

The Montcalm County Sheriff's Department says the 3-foot-deep hole was dug for the family's trampoline. The property is in Bloomer Township near Carson City, about 45 miles north-northeast of Grand Rapids.

WOOD-TV says Jaxon Crouse wandered away and was found floating face down in the water about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Daily News of Greenville says family members performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Jaxon, then drove him to Carson City Hospital.

A helicopter then flew him to DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was in critical condition Wednesday afternoon.
