FARMINGTON (WWJ) – Downtown Farmington’s Art on the Grand kicks off Friday, June 3 with an entertainment pre-glow celebration from 6 to 11 pm. The artists’ booths will open the following morning, Saturday, June 4 from 10 am to 7 pm and run through Sunday, June 5 from 11 am to 6 pm.

A juried fine arts fair, Art on the Grand will showcase more than 120 fine artists and crafts persons from across the country, working in various media, including paintings, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, glass, photography  and more.

There will be hands-on activities for children, wine and delectable food, live music, and much, much more. Guests will also be treated to a number of strolling performances, artist demonstrations and sidewalk sales from local businesses.

Best of all, admission to Art on the Grand is free!

The fair gets a grand kick off Friday during Pre-glow Grapes on the Grand, from 6 until 11 pm. The Grapes on the Grand Wine and Beer Tent will be rocked by the popular rock band Killer Flamingos, who will present a concert-style performance that blends pop, rock, and electronica. Tickets are $25 at the door. Guests must be 21-years-old to attend.

For the first time, Art on the Grand will feature an outdoor wine tasting dinner event, on Saturday from 7 to 10 pm. Guests will enjoy 90-point wines (as listed by Wine Spectator) from around the world paired five courses including antipasto, salad, appetizer, entrée and dessert.

Hosted by John Cowley & Sons and the Meadows Fine Wine & Liquor, Chef Zach Peterlin and Sommelier Mike Larranaga will provide a flavorful and educational experience.

Space permitting, tickets for Saturday night’s wine tasting will be $40 at the door. Additional wine or beer by the glass will be available for guests not attending the tasting. Guests must be 21-years-old to attend.

In addition to these events, Farmington’s Farmers and Artisans Market will take place on Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm in the area behind Riley Park.
