First lady Michelle Obama has made child nutrition, exercise and health the main issues of her term in office. As part of her efforts, the USDA has unveiled a new website, choose www.choosemyplate.gov, which helps kids and families make better nutritional decisions.
The website includes information of the new nutritional plate, which includes portions for protein, fruit vegetables and grains at every meal, with a drink of dairy or water. The site also includes special sections for kids, for parents, and for those families with infants. It also includes tips for adding more fruits and vegetables to your table, and for reducing fat and sugar in your family’s diet.
