Many Honor Memory Of Dad At Cemetery

TROY (WWJ) - Some families are honoring dad, even though he's no longer with us.

Families remembering loved ones at the White Chapel Cemetery in Troy aren't just cleaning grave stones this Fathers' Day... they're leaving some unique items behind for Dad.

WWJ's Katheryn Larson reports on this Fathers' Day with more.

Robert Felk of Royal Oak passed away in 1994 and the effort grave-side is a family affair for his surviving members.

John Beard is buried in White Chapel Cemetery which was being tended by the Beard's of  West Bloomfield:

"We've raised our children to love family, and my wife and I feel that's very important, so we show some respect and come out and do that," said John Beard after placing flowers graveside.

From spraying and cleaning the grave site - to pulling weeds around the grave, many folks spent time to clean around the grave or say a prayer.
