DETROIT (WWJ) – A teenager is dead after an early morning shooting on Detroit’s eastside.

Detroit Police say firefighters battling a fire near Phillip and Waveney Streets heard screams and found the 17-year-old on the ground, who was shot twice.

The teen was taken to the hospital, but died.

Homicide investigators are in the neighborhood now, looking for suspects.
