Tigers 4 , Blue Jays 2

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - The Tigers scored two in the eighth inning to give Detroit the 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in the Monday night make-up game.

As heard on 97.1 The Ticket, Jhonny Peralta hit a tiebreaking triple in the eighth inning and Victor Martinez drove in two runs.

Max Scherzer struck out nine over seven strong innings and the AL Central leaders won their third straight, snapping Toronto's three-game winning streak.

In the makeup of a May 17 rain out, Tigers manager Jim Leyland was ejected in the seventh after a long argument that included a mocking impersonation of first base umpire Ed Rapuano changing his call on a close play.

Stay tuned to 97.1 The Ticket as the Tigers move on to their three game series against the New York Mets with coverage beginning Tuesday at 6:40 p.m.
