Bill's Blog: If It's Not Scottish, It's Crap!

I am going to be appearing at the 2011 Highland Games at Greenmead Historical Park in Livonia on August 5th. If you're not familiar with the Highland Games, they are the annual celebration of everything that is Scottish. Everything from athletic competitions such as; Caber Tossing (looks like a telephone pole) and the Tug-O-War. There will be teams from the U.S. Marines and the Wayne County Sheriffs competing and I will be the referee.

My Grandparents were both from Scotland yet they met here in Detroit on the Boblo Boat in 1928. The Highland Games were held on Boblo Island back then. I love everything about my Scottish heritage...meat pies, the accent, Braveheart. And keeping with the tradition, I will be wearing a kilt. Check out my kilt fitting with Stoney and Sara doing the play-by-play.
