DETROIT (WWJ) – Fans young and old will be lining up at the movie theaters Wednesday, as “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” hits the big screen. So why are the Transformers movies so popular?

WWJ’s Sandra McNeill set out to ask the fans.

Sharon Bryson of Detroit loves the Transformers movies…but she has an extra reason to get a front row seat to this one.

“I’m waiting for the part where they show on TV where they destroy the train and they were all on top of each other, that was in Detroit and I can’t wait to see that,” said Bryson.

And 9-year-old Dustin Messenger of Oak Park is a HUGE fan: “I am totally excited…I don’t know, just one day, I got one and it came up on me and I just love them,” he said.

“Transformers: Dark of the Moon” will open in theaters Wednesday.
