Motorcyclist Killed In 12 Mile Road Crash

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - One person is dead after a car and a motorcycle collided along 12 mile Road west of Northwestern Highway.

Southfield Police Sgt. Matt Collins said they're still trying to piece together what happened.

"The motorcycle, it appears at this time, that he was westbound at 12 Mile and the other vehicle involved ... the smaller car over there, was traveling southbound on Franklin Road," Collins said.

The woman in the car was not injured.

The crash rattled passing motorists, including David Drosdick, in town from Birmingham, Alabama.

"It's important just to say, to tell our family members every day how much we love them, because we never know what it's our last. And I would hate to go through my life and lose someone like this and not know," he said.

Twelve Mile Road was closed west of Northwestern for the accident investigation but re-opened hours later.
