Cedar Point Takes Coaster Fans On Patriotic Ride

SANDUSKY, OH. (WWJ) - Cedar Point is giving coaster fans a patriotic ride this weekend. Aside from having extended hours for the entire weekend, Cedar Point's Robin Innes said the July fourth weekend is a perfect time to take in the nightly American Portrait show.

"In addition to seeing the fireworks at 10:00 on Sunday and Monday, American Portrait, which has these high-def images shown on a big projection screen, it has fireworks of its own and also some patriotic music," Innes said.

Plus, active, retired and honorably discharged members of the Armed Forces get in free all weekend.  Also keep an eye out for the "World's Largest Touring Grill," cooking up various food items throughout the park.

Innes said if you haven't made it to the park this season, they'll try to hold a spot in line for you on Windseeker, the new 30-story tall swing ride.

"It's an exciting ride. Just pictures, images of Cedar Point, Sandusky Bay, Cedar Point beach, Lake Erie. When you're on top of that, you know you're nearly 30 stories above the ground and it's just breathtaking views," Innes said.
