Pets May Need Extra Help During Noisy Fireworks
DETROIT (WWJ) - Pets may have a hard time coping this July fourth holiday.
It's gonna be a noisy couple of days and not all four-legged friends will be able to handle it.
Kathryn Larson reports that the sounds of fireworks and pets often don't mix.
Hidden Springs veterinarian Dr. Kimberly Berry says your dog may need something as strong as valium to take the edge off of what could be a traumatizing experience. .
She said Bennedryl can also help in some cases: Dr. Berry says you should keep a good eye on your dog this weekend and may want to put them in the bathroom or closet.
She says while it sounds confining most pups will feel more secure.
