Building Explosion At Paving Company
GREEN OAK TWP. (WWJ) - A Livingston County asphalt paving company has been damaged by an explosion and fire. Neighbors spotted flames near the fuel tanks at Budget Paving and Asphalt in Greek Oak Township.
Smoke could be seen several miles away.
WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with Kory Rollison, Fire Captain in Green Oaks Township, who said crews were called to the scene shortly after 11 a.m..
"It went out relatively quickly. We used compressed air foam on it, which we carry in our trucks. It took approximatly 10, 15 minutes to get the fire knocked out," Rollison said, adding that several departments from neighboring communities assisted on the call.
No was was hurt.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
