False Alarm In Case Of Missing Morenci Boys
MORENCI (WWJ/AP) - Police in the Monroe County community of Morenci says items found over the weekend that at first were thought to be possible evidence in the case of three missing brothers turned out to be nothing.
Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks says a number of bones were found, which turned out to be animal bones. He says nothing was found to help them solve the case of the Skelton brothers.
The three boys, Andrew, Alexander and Tanner Skelton vanished last Thanksgiving weekend.
They were last seen with their father, John Skelton, who is in jail awaiting trial on kidnapping charges. Skelton claims he gave his sons to an "organization" to keep them safe.
Chief Weeks said recent public service announcements have generated new leads in the case.
