Officials: 2 Die In Separate UP Drownings

MARQUETTE (AP) - Authorities say two people have died in separate possible drownings in the Upper Peninsula.

The Mining Journal of Marquette reports that the body of 52-year-old Rolf Lehtinen of Wakefield was found Sunday morning at Bergland's Township Park on Lake Gogebic in Ontonagon County. Authorities say the Lehtinen was house-sitting for an area resident.

On Sunday night, state police responded to a 911 call about a possible drowning on South Manistique Lake in Mackinac County's Portage Township. Some fisherman had seen a watercraft traveling in circles, and authorities found the body of 42-year-old Jeffrey Sell of Curtis.
