ANN ARBOR (WWJ)- Visitors stopped by a University of Michigan library to express their condolences on the death of former First Lady Betty Ford who died this past weekend.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Pat Sweeting reports that Karen Sheets of Howell and Susan Fox of California both added their names to those in the condolence book at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library on the campus of University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

Sheets said the visit reminded her of all the good things that Mrs. Ford did: "Number one, to me, is being a good mother, and a faithful wife, and also just spoke her mind about important issues."

Susan Fox thinks about her name and her friend's name becoming part of the Presidential Archives and felt fortunate to be able to come to the library to honor Mrs. Ford in this way.

The condolence book will be available for signing until the Library closes for the week;  at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 15.
