Fithian’s Fab Five 7-13-11

My favorite Tigers moment in an All-Star game? Chet Lemon, my favorite Tiger, goes to the game wearing sweet white shoes. Chester gets a hit, which is great, but then gets picked off of first.

My favorite non Tigers All-Star moment? 1983 MVP Fred Lynn hits a grand slam off of Atlee
Hammaker and goes on to give up seven earned runs, including the first-ever and still-only grand slam in All-Star Game history. Hammaker never recovers from that moment IMO.

The All-Star game I wish I could have been at?  1971 All-Star game at Tigers Stadium. Eighteen future Hall of Famers to go along with Sparky Anderson & Earl Weaver as the managers. Reggie Jackson’s home run that hit the light tower. I would love to have been in my favorite seats at Tigers Stadium, the 1st row in the upper deck in right.

My top five NFL running backs that I saw in my lifetime?
Payton, Smith, Sanders, Campbell & Faulk.
Never saw Brown, Sayers or Juice. I put my list up after seeing a blurb on profootballtalk.com, “Asked in a radio interview if he was better than Smith, Sanders answered, “I would never say that. He was too great of a player, and I loved competing against him.”
Barry to me was more electric but with a playoff game on the line I would pick Emmitt over Barry.

I really don’t like techno music however the song “Everyday I’m shuffling” has too good of a beat to ignore.
Great song.
