The Detroit Chapter of TiE, in its continuing quest for “Talent, Ideas and Enterprises,” announces finalists of its TiEQuest 2011 Business Venture Competition.

The finalists are:

MitoStem – Detroit
Naan Stop – Ann Arbor
WriteSteps – Ann Arbor

Finalists will make their presentations at the TiEQuest 2011 event on Saturday, July 30 from 6 to 9:30 pm in the Digital Auditorium at NextWave Media Studios, 950 Stephenson Highway, Troy. Finalists will be given a total of eight minutes — five minutes for presentation and three minutes for Q&A.

The event opens with networking from 6 to 6:30, followed by a welcome and guest speakers, the finalist presentations from 7 to 8 p.m., concluding with dinner and awards ceremony. Admission is $15 for TiE members and $25 for non-members.

TiEQuest is an initiative by the Global TiE organization to create and present a comprehensive framework for business venture competitions integrated with mentoring and investment flows to attract and nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs across TiEs’ Global Network.

Winners will be provided in-kind services and support from TiEQuest’s vast network of in-kind sponsors. These free services include intellectual property consultation, legal and patent services, financial management, and IT advice. TiEQuest maintains and monitors the progress of its contestants and provides support even after the competition concludes.
