Detroit Police Officer Injured In Motorcycle Accident

CLAY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - An off-duty Detroit Police Officer is hospitalized in critical condition after a motorcycle accident near Algonac.

Clay Township Police say the 42-year-old was driving his motorcycle on Pointe Tremble Road near Island Drive around 12:30 am Friday when the bike left the road. It's unclear what caused the motorcycle to go off the road.

The officer, who isn't being identified at this time, was taken first to St. John River District Hospital in critical condition. He has since been transferred to Mt. Clemens Regional Hospital.
