Teens Say Man Tried To Lure Them Into Car

ROMULUS (WWJ) - Romulus Police are looking for a man who may have tried to lure some teens into his car.

Sergeant Derran Shelby says three 15-year-old boys and a 13-year-old girl called police about a man they said used his car to block their path as they were out walking.

The teens said the man asked if they needed a ride or if they had cigarettes, saying they looked pretty and that age didn't matter.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Barrington Apartments on Wayne Road, just north of I-94.

The four teens gave police a license plate that matches a vehicle they say is registered to 50-year-old Philip Bruce Chorbajian, whom police call a "person of interest."

Chorbajian is described as a white male, 5-foot-9-inches tall, weighing 150-pounds, and last seen wearing a white shirt with black writing, blue jeans, and a black ball cap with a letter "D."

The car is described as a dark brown, 1977 Cadillac with license plate number B-T-N 3-3-1-6.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Romulus Police Department at (734) 941-8400.
