U.S. Rep. Dale Kildee To Retire At End Of Term
LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Democratic U.S. Rep. Dale Kildee of Flint has announced his retirement after 18 terms reports The Associated Press.
The long-time Michigan congressman says 36 years is enough. The 81-year-old Michigan congressman is announced his decision Friday afternoon.
Kildee says he wants to spend more time with his wife, three children and ten grandchildren. Michigan's congressional district lines are being redrawn before the 2012 election, after the state lost population in the 2010 census.
Kildee becomes the eighth House Democrat to announce his retirement. Five Republicans have also said they will not seek re-election next year.
