Clarkston Firm Adds Device Controller Line

Clarkston-based High Resolution Systems LLC has taken its popular UDC Touch, a universal device controller with touchscreen interface, and expanded it into a line of dedicated products.

"Customers have been asking for UDC Touch units dedicated to specific devices so we are introducing five new versions of UDC Touch, with customized displays and functionality, to meet their needs," says Drew Taylor, sales engineer at High Resolution Systems. "UDC Touch for Christie Vista Spyder, Christie Projection systems, Christie Projection with Spyder, Lightware and AJA Ki Pro extend touchscreen Universal Device Control to the most widely used devices on the market today."

UDC Spyder Touch is a dedicated touchscreen controller that communicates directly with the Christie Vista Spyder. It comes in 7- and 10-inch models, reads command keys and function keys from a connected Spyder and auto-populates the buttons on the touchscreen accordingly.

UDC Christie Projection Touch communicates directly with Christie digital projectors and can control up to 40 projectors as groups or offer individual control. It also comes in 7- or 10-inch models and reads lamp hours, input selected and more.

UDC Christie Projection with Spyder Touch delivers all the features of Spyder Touch and Christie Projection Touch combined in a single 7- or 10-inch touchscreen controller for users who typically team Christie digital projectors and the Spyder image processing system.

High Resolution Systems also offers the UDC Lightware Touch designed to control Lightware Matrix Routers of any size, from 8×8 to 80×80. It can define up to four separate routers and quickly switch control among different matrix routers. It comes in 7- and 10-inch models.

The UDC AJA Ki Pro Touch can control up to four Ki Pro tapeless video recorders and four KUMO compact SDI routers. The unit reads timecode from each Ki Pro and displays it individually.

UDC Spyder Touch, Christie Projection Touch and Lightware Touch come with a UDC Touch unit for an optional add-on with a UDC license.

In addition to this new product line, High Resolution Systems has announced new features for PowerPoint control for UDC-R or UDC-Remote Control. PowerPoint can be controlled from UDC using the UDC-R remote application on a computer utilized for a PowerPoint presentation.

"The most exciting new feature is PowerPoint Preview," says Taylor. "UDC-R sends a live preview of the computer running the PowerPoint back to UDC and displays this preview on a button. Like any other button, this preview button can be resized and moved anywhere within the controller interface. We have a customer using this feature to control PowerPoint from an iPad - he's able to set up buttons to control PowerPoint and get a live preview of his presentation and, of course, control the projectors and other AV equipment."

High Resolution Systems is a company with a strong systems engineering and applications background. Its founders have decades of experience in the audio visual rental and staging industry, broadcast applications, A/V installations and system design. This combined experience allows them to provide the highest possible quality solutions to its customers in the most efficient manner.
