Funeral Arrangements For Fallen Detroit Officer

DETROIT (WWJ) –  Funeral arrangements have been decided for a Detroit Police Sergeant who died from injuries suffered in an off-duty motorcycle crash.

Forty-two-year-old Michael Martel crashed his motorcycle early Friday morning in St. Clair County’s Clay Township.  He died Sunday at Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center.

Public viewings for those who wish to pay respects to the fallen officer have been arranged for Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack, Grosse Pointe) from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at St. Isaac Jogues Parish in St. Clair Shores on Friday, July 22, beginning at 9:30 am. Interment services will be held at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
