Video Captures Boat Race Tragedy

CHICAGO (WWJ) - Some dramatic video has been released on a boat tragedy earlier this week in Lake Michigan.

A sailor taking part in the Chicago-to-Mackinac race captured the footage early Monday as severe storms capsized the boat, killing two people. The bodies of Mark Morely and Suzanne Bickel, both of Saginaw, were found later the same day.

Crews on competing boats raced to the capsized 35-foot boat and rescued the six other crew members.  The sponsor of a boat race says it will investigate the incident.
