Former Wolverine Braylon Edwards Guilty of DWI

Former Michigan Wolverine and current New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated on Friday, wrapping up a case stemming from a Sept. 21 police stop.

Edwards' case will be closed with no jail time or probation if he pays a fine of $500. Edwards is required to continue his involvement in the NFL alcohol counseling program he's been a part of since November. He will also have his driver's license suspended for six months.

Edwards has been involved in several incidents involving his vehicle. Most recently, he crashed his car on Belle Isle, though police say alcohol was not involved, and no charges stemmed from the minor accident.

Edwards will be a free agent when the NFL lockout ends, and could be subject to league discipline once business resumes.
