Police Look For Hit-And-Run Driver Who Killed Boy On Bicycle

ITHACA (WWJ/AP) - Mid-Michigan police are looking for a driver who fled the scene after striking and killing a boy on a bicycle. The boy was killed late Thursday in Ithaca.

Authorities tell The Saginaw News and the Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant the boy was hit from behind just after 11 pm and was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

According to police, the boy had left a friend's house was riding a bicycle when he was struck from behind by a motor vehicle traveling in the same direction. The vehicle left the scene of the accident.

Police haven't released the victim's age or name pending notification of immediate family members who are out of state.

Police don't know what kind of vehicle was being driven, but they do know it should show damage to the right headlight area.
