DETROIT (WWJ) – Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing girl.  Detroit Police are looking for five-year old Mariha Trenice Smith, who lives on Burlingame.

The child’s mother last saw the girl sleeping on the floor at home. The mother then noticed the child missing around noon, and called police.  The woman also noticed the front window was open.

The girl about two feet, five inches tall, weighs 26 pounds has black eyes and black hair. She was last wearing a black T-shirt with pink flowers, and blue jean pants. Detroit Police believe the girl was abducted.

Anyone with information about the girl is asked to call 911 or the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-5900.

Meanwhile, the body of a young child was found following a fire in a house on the city’s west side.
