Snyder Speaks From Delray Community, Site Of Proposed 2nd Bridge

DETROIT (WWJ) - Governor Snyder in Detroit Tuesday afternoon touring a Southwest side neighborhood.

WWJ's Stephanie Davis reports from the Delray neighborhood, the site of a proposed second bridge between Detroit and Windsor.

Governor Rick Snyder called this the start of a dialog with leaders in this Delray community, to find out what benefits are important to have this neighborhood grow and flourish and do well as a second bridge crossing project.

"Part (of it) ... is with the concession here, and through the authority, (we want) to make sure there is an agreement with the community to provide benefits,  through that process ... with the federal government, and with respect to the customs plaza," said Snyder.

The 'New International Trade Crossing' still needs the approval of the legislature. Gov. Snyder is looking to address that issue sometime in the Fall when lawmakers return to Lansing.
