ST. CLAIR COUNTY (WWJ) – U.S. Coast Guard says authorities have recovered the body of a swimmer who went into the water with a group near Harsens Island and didn’t return.

Five people jumped into the water from two boats on Sunday evening near where the South Channel meets the St. Clair River, and only four returned.

The St. Clair County dive team found the body late Monday afternoon in about 40 feet of water.

The victim was described as a male resident of Capac and about 25 years old.
