Judge Dismisses Case Of Love Gone Wrong On Facebook

LIVONIA (WWJ)- A story of love gone wrong on Facebook brings a Livonia woman to court to recoup money spent on the relationship.

Fifty-year-old Cheryl Gray of Livonia, Michigan filed a suit against her Facebook paramour after the relationship failed, claiming misrepresentation and defamation of character against 35-year-old Wylie Iwan of Kennewick, Wash.

Gray claims the relationship started online after they met playing the game, Mafia Wars.

The six-month relationship was ended by Iwan, shortly before Gray was to met him in Washington. Gray was seeking $8,000 as repayment for items she purchased for Iwan before the break-up.

The Associated Press reports that defense lawyer Julian Poota says Gray argued "the personal relationship constituted doing business in Michigan."

Iwan did not appear in court for Monday's hearing.

The Judge dismissed the case ruling that she had no jurisdiction in the case.
