REDFORD (WWJ) – It stumped utility crews for quite some time, but they finally figured out what was causing power outages the past few days in Redford.

DTE says some metallic balloons got caught in some overhead power lines, causing the sporadic outages.

Crews have taken care of the problem, and the 5,000 DTE customers now have their power back on.
