Finding Stuff Is Fun! (And Educational)

Finding good math activities for the summer is a tough task. But one activity that involves numbers will surely get kids involved. Using a GPS unit, kids can locate small boxes and objects left by others.

This relatively new sport, called "geocaching", can be done all over Michigan. Looking for a geocache means first finding out where one is online, then downloading maps, directions and clues. Using a GPS unit, map skills, and some luck, you then need to locate the unit, log that you found it, and put it back where you found it.
